The U13 Craven Week is the youngest of SA Rugby’s national Youth Weeks: the country’s best under-13 primary-school players, selected into provincial sides, playing a national tournament in the same provincial-jersey format as the famous U18 week. For most boys it is their first taste of representative rugby.
Like the senior Youth Weeks it keeps no points log and stages no official final — fixtures are seeded day by day, and the strongest sides are paired in the showpiece matches at the end of the week. The 2026 edition was hosted by Grey College in Bloemfontein.
Almost every Springbok started here or at a tournament like it. The U13 week is where provincial structures first identify a generation of talent, and the standout names from Bloemfontein this year will be the core of Grant Khomo Week squads in 2029 and Craven Week squads in 2031.
