Across 19 appearances as a replacement, Basse's output is defined overwhelmingly by his defensive work, averaging over four tackles per match and reaching double figures in a single outing. His carrying load is deliberately modest in volume, yet he has shown the ability to contribute with ball in hand when called upon, adding two tries to his account. The numbers paint a picture of a player trusted primarily to shore up the defensive line upon entry.
