Across 28 matches and close to a thousand minutes of action, John's tackle numbers stand out sharply for a tighthead prop, averaging six per game with a single-match peak of 19 — a figure that points to consistent defensive involvement well beyond the scrum. His carrying game is modest in volume and gain, which is typical of a prop used primarily to secure and protect rather than to punch yardage, with his best carrying performance of eight attempts in a match reinforcing that he can contribute when called upon. The data collectively paint a picture of a durable, defence-first tighthead who logs significant minutes and brings reliable work rate across multiple competitions.
