Locatelli is defined above all by his work rate in defence, averaging over 11 tackles per match across 22 appearances — a volume that points to a player trusted to do the heavy lifting at the breakdown and in the wider defensive line. His carrying is steady rather than explosive, contributing reliable metres game after game, and his peak outputs of 20 tackles and 35 metres in a single match show he can raise that output significantly when the occasion demands. Across Challenge Cup and United Rugby Championship rugby, he has proven himself a durable, high-minutes flanker who earns his place through consistency.
Samuele Locatelli is a professional rugby union flanker registered with the Zebre Rugby, the South Africa-based franchise. He forms part of the matchday squad and is tasked with hunting turnovers and carrying as a loose forward.
As a flanker, Samuele features for the Zebre Rugby across the United Rugby Championship, the Currie Cup and European club competition, with home fixtures played at South Africa in South Africa.
