Across 15 appearances, Armstrong's output reflects the profile of a scrum half deployed with a strong defensive mandate — his tackle count comfortably outweighs his carry involvement, and he consistently shows up in the contact area. His carrying game is measured rather than prominent, averaging just over a metre per minute of ball-in-hand action, though peak games show he can step up both with ball and in defence when required. He offers reliable, low-risk contribution at the base rather than high-impact ball-running.
Niall Armstrong is a professional rugby union scrum-half registered with the Dragons, the South Africa-based franchise. He forms part of the matchday squad and is tasked with dictating tempo from the base of the ruck.
