Across 20 Super Rugby appearances as a replacement, Burey contributes steadily with the ball in hand, averaging over 13 metres per outing from a modest carry count that reflects his impact role. His best performances show genuine upside — peaking at 11 carries and 54 metres in a single match — indicating he can drive meaningfully when given extended minutes. Defensively he is consistent without being prolific, suggesting his primary value lies in carrying rather than defensive workload.
