Velarte operates as a high-volume workhorse at number 8, consistently combining heavy carrying loads with an exceptional tackle count that marks him as one of the more defensively active loose forwards in the dataset. His per-match averages suggest a player trusted to bring both go-forward ball and defensive grunt across full game time, while his peak performances — pushing 17 carries and 21 tackles in a single match — indicate he can absorb an even greater share of the workload when required. Across Challenge Cup and Top 14 action, his numbers paint a picture of reliability rather than flash, with consistent output sustained over nearly 900 minutes of rugby.
