Vermeulen contributes consistently on both sides of the ball, averaging over five carries and five tackles per match across his four appearances. His best outings show he can step up significantly when required, nearly doubling his typical output to reach double figures in both carries and tackles in a single game. That defensive reliability in particular marks him as a disciplined presence at the base of the scrum.
