Across 65 matches Belcher sustains an exceptionally high workload on both sides of the ball, averaging over nine tackles and seven carries per game with a defensive peak of 24 tackles in a single outing. His carrying numbers, while steady rather than explosive, reflect a hooker consistently willing to take hard metres through contact. That combination of reliable ball-carrying and a tackle count well above average for the position points to a player central to his team's forward effort week in, week out.
