Verden's numbers tell the story of a player brought on primarily to shore up defence, averaging four tackles per appearance across his three outings in the Challenge Cup and Premiership. His carrying load is modest, suggesting his impact is concentrated at the breakdown and in the collision rather than as a ball-carrier. The standout return of 11 tackles in a single match underlines his capacity to be a significant defensive presence when the moment calls for it.
