Across 21 matches, Taumateine's tackle numbers stand out as the defining feature of his game, averaging 7.4 per match and reaching as high as 14 in a single outing — an unusually high workload for a nine. His carrying is measured rather than prominent, suggesting a role built on control and defensive responsibility rather than ball-in-hand impact.
