Mentoe is a consistent ball-carrier at full back, averaging nearly 57 metres per match across six Currie Cup appearances — a figure that points to genuine impact with ball in hand rather than a peripheral role. His best outings push past 90 metres and double digits in carries, showing he can impose himself when given the opportunity. Defensive involvement remains limited, which suggests his primary value lies in attack and in gaining ground from deep.
