Across 16 appearances as a replacement, Richards consistently contributes both with ball in hand and in defence, averaging over four-and-a-half tackles per outing alongside steady carries that gain meaningful ground. His peak performances — reaching double figures in carries and 13 tackles in a single match — show he is capable of stepping up his workload considerably when called upon. That combination of defensive diligence and carrying threat makes him a dependable impact option off the bench.
