Across 53 matches, de Groot's tackle count stands out as his defining contribution — averaging nearly seven per game and peaking at 19 in a single outing, he carries a significant defensive burden for a prop. His carrying numbers are modest in volume but consistent, reflecting the tight, attritional work expected of a front-rower rather than any ball-in-hand ambition. The four tries across his appearances are a quiet reminder that he arrives at the right moments when it matters.
Ethan de Groot is a professional rugby union prop registered with the Highlanders, the South Africa-based franchise. He forms part of the matchday squad and is tasked with anchoring the scrum in the front row.
