Across 61 matches Van Rhyn has established himself as a high-volume tackler, averaging over nine tackles per game and peaking at 31 in a single outing — figures that point to a lock who takes on serious defensive responsibility week in, week out. His carrying numbers are steady rather than explosive, consistently contributing to the forward effort without dominating ball-in-hand statistics. The combination of minutes accumulated and tackle output tells the story of a durable, defensively-oriented lock.
