Across 28 appearances his tackle numbers stand out immediately — averaging over six per game from a replacement role points to a player who hits the ground running defensively the moment he takes the field. His carries are efficient rather than prolific, but a best-game haul of 9 carries for 30 metres shows he can impose himself physically when called upon. The combination of nearly 175 tackles and close to 1000 minutes of action builds a picture of a forward who earns his minutes through work-rate and defensive reliability.
