Mascarenc's tackle numbers stand out immediately — averaging over five per match across 13 appearances, with a single-game peak of 13, he carries a heavy defensive workload for a centre. His carrying game is consistent rather than explosive, contributing reliably with ball in hand each outing, and his best performances show he can shoulder a significantly larger share of both contact duties when required.
Diego Mascarenc is a professional rugby union centre registered with the USA Perpignan, the South Africa-based franchise. He forms part of the matchday squad and is tasked with combining midfield defence with attacking distribution.
As a centre, Diego features for the USA Perpignan across the United Rugby Championship, the Currie Cup and European club competition, with home fixtures played at South Africa in South Africa.
