Across nine appearances as a replacement, John has built a reliable pattern of contribution in the tight — averaging over four carries and 25 metres per outing across Challenge Cup and Premiership rugby. His best single-game returns of nine carries and 72 metres show he is capable of making a sharp impact when given extended minutes. His tackle numbers are modest, suggesting his primary value off the bench is as a ball-carrying option rather than a defensive linchpin.
