Across 19 appearances, Smit consistently contributes both with ball in hand and without it, averaging over five carries and nearly five tackles per match. His defensive output is a particular standout, with a single-game high of 11 tackles pointing to a player who can shoulder significant defensive responsibility when required. His carrying numbers suggest a steady, reliable presence in the midfield rather than a line-breaking focal point.
Cornel Smit is a professional rugby union centre registered with the Bulls, the Pretoria-based franchise. He forms part of the matchday squad and is tasked with combining midfield defence with attacking distribution.
