Across 82 matches Thomas has accumulated well over 2000 metres with the ball and close to 600 tackles, numbers that point to a centre who contributes heavily at both ends of the field in virtually every game he plays. His per-match averages of seven carries and seven tackles are remarkably balanced, suggesting a player who is as committed to stopping ball-carriers as he is to shifting the gainline himself. Peak performances of 18 carries, 95 metres, and 19 tackles in a single match underline that he can lift significantly above his baseline when the occasion demands it.
