Mgijima contributes consistently on both sides of the ball, averaging just under five carries and close to five tackles per match across his five appearances for the Cheetahs. His defensive output is a particular standout, with a single-game high of 12 tackles pointing to a centre who is prepared to do heavy defensive work when the team needs it. His carrying is steady rather than explosive, suggesting a player who prioritises gaining reliable ground over chasing line breaks.
