Orlando Pirates are building momentum at exactly the right time. Boitumelo Radiopane scored the only goal as the Buccaneers defeated Spanish side UD Las Palmas 1-0 at the Marbella Football Center on Wednesday, claiming their second win of a four-match pre-season tour of Spain.

Radiopane Shines in Spanish Campaign

Radiopane has been the standout performer of the trip. He netted in the opening 1-1 draw against Córdoba CF and now has the winner against Las Palmas — a striker finding his range ahead of a title defence. His clinical finish came after Pirates sustained pressure in the final third, and it proved enough in a physical, tightly contested match where both sides rotated heavily throughout.

Pirates Bounce Back with Defensive Display

The result is a direct response to Tuesday's 3-2 defeat to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad. Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou's side stayed organised at the back and showed the kind of tactical discipline that PSL rivals will need to account for when the Betway Premiership gets underway. The tour record now reads: draw with Córdoba CF, win over Cádiz CF 2-1, loss to Al-Ittihad 3-2, win over Las Palmas 1-0.

One fixture remains. Pirates face Saudi Arabian club NEOM SC on Friday, 24 July, with kick-off at 19:00 SAST. That is the final tune-up before the Betway Premiership season opens on 1 August — and on this form, the Sea Robbers look ready to defend their title from the first whistle.
