Kaizer Chiefs Sign Langelihle Phili from Stellenbosch

Kaizer Chiefs have wrapped up their fifth signing of the transfer window, confirming the arrival of Stellenbosch FC winger Langelihle Phili at Naturena. The 21-year-old Durban-born attacker joins Fernando da Cruz's squad as Amakhosi continue their rebuild ahead of a PSL campaign that could stretch beyond 50 matches.

Phili's Stellenbosch Performance Earns Move

Phili earned this move the hard way. Last season at Stellenbosch he scored nine goals in 39 appearances across the Betway Premiership and the CAF Confederation Cup, finishing as the club's top scorer and walking away with both the Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season awards. That kind of output and consistency at domestic and continental level is exactly what Chiefs need in the final third.

New-Look Attack Takes Shape at Chiefs

He slots into a new-look Amakhosi attack alongside fellow arrivals Thabo Moloisane, Renaldo Leaner and Adolf Mtasingwa, with Khanyisa Mayo also now permanent after his January loan. Chiefs have been equally busy on the way out — close to ten players have departed this window, including Given Msimango, who heads to Stellenbosch, and Glody Lilepo, who said his farewells on Monday. The squad is being reshaped deliberately and quickly.

On the international stage, Phili helped Amajita win the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco before earning a call-up to the Under-23 squad for the 2027 Under-23 AFCON qualifiers.
