The DHL Stormers have received a timely boost with the return of Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who is set to feature in the Vodacom URC coastal derby against the Sharks in Durban on Saturday.
Coach John Dobson confirmed that the 22-year-old playmaker has recovered from the knee injury sustained during his debut Springbok campaign in September. Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s availability is a significant lift for the Stormers, particularly with Damian Willemse ruled out until March due to a groin injury suffered against Glasgow Warriors.
A Key Return for the Stormers
Feinberg-Mngomezulu had played through his injury during the Rugby Championship clash with the All Blacks in Cape Town. His absence was felt as the Stormers navigated the opening rounds of the Vodacom URC without their dynamic playmaker.
Having Sacha back is massive for us, especially with Damian out for a while,” Dobson told Rapport. “We’re excited to see what he brings to the table this weekend.”
Injury Updates on Key Players
While the Stormers celebrate the return of Feinberg-Mngomezulu, they’ll also welcome back Salmaan Moerat and Ben-Jason Dixon for the clash against the Sharks.
Dobson provided updates on several other injured stars:
- Frans Malherbe and Deon Fourie are set to return in December.
- Evan Roos, recovering from a significant layoff, is expected back by the end of January.
Looking Ahead to the Derby
With a mix of youth and experience returning to the squad, the Stormers are set to face their coastal rivals in a highly anticipated showdown. As both teams aim to make an impact in the Vodacom URC, the clash promises to be a spectacle for South African rugby fans.
