The Toyota Cheetahs are excited to announce new additions and contract extensions ahead of the upcoming match against the national side of Georgia and the Carling Currie Cup campaign.
Returning to the Toyota Cheetahs setup is Mihlali Mosi, the dynamic loose forward who joins from the Bulls. Mosi, known for his explosive ball-carrying and defensive work rate, is no stranger to the Toyota faithful and brings valuable experience back to Bloemfontein.
Also rejoining the Toyota Cheetahs is Thabang Mahlasi, a talented loose forward and former Shimlas captain. Mahlasi’s leadership qualities and physical presence will add depth to the back row.
Adding further firepower to the front row is Frankie Dos Reis, a versatile tighthead prop from the Toyota Academy and a former Shimlas standout. His scrummaging power and mobility make him a strong asset as the Cheetahs prepare for a demanding domestic season.
In addition to the exciting arrivals, the Toyota Cheetahs are proud to confirm that key players have committed their futures to the team:
- Cohen Jasper, the electrifying fullback with a growing reputation for game-breaking plays.
- Ali Mgijima is a consistent and hardworking presence in the backline.
- Raegan Oranje, the versatile backline player, adds much value in the midfield and also on the wing.
- Pierre Raymond Uys, the highly promising forward, has extended his contract by another two years—well ahead of schedule—as a clear sign of mutual commitment between the player and the team.
These signings and contract extensions reflect the Toyota Cheetahs’ ambition to build a competitive and united squad ahead of the prestigious Carling Currie Cup, with a blend of youthful talent, seasoned experience, and strong Free State roots.
In preparation for the Carling Currie Cup, which kicks off on Sunday, 27 July, against the Sanlam Boland Cavaliers in Wellington, the Toyota Cheetahs will face the Griquas on 4 July in Bultfontein and a week later, on Friday, 11 July, Georgia’s national side in Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
Stay tuned for more updates as preparations continue in earnest for the 2025 Carling Currie Cup!
